Apple’s Taiwanese supplier Foxconn is getting ready to start shipping iPhones from its new plant in Karnataka as early as June, according to people familiar with the matter. Final checks are currently underway before full-scale production begins.

Last week, a senior Apple executive from its headquarters in Cupertino visited both the Foxconn plant in Bengaluru and the Tata Electronics unit in Hosur to review progress and readiness ahead of upcoming product launches.

The executive’s visit to the large 300-acre Foxconn facility near Devanahalli, Bengaluru, was part of a final review before iPhone shipments are expected to begin next month.

This new plant is expected to become Foxconn’s second-largest iPhone manufacturing facility after its unit in China.

The report said that an Apple executive visited Foxconn’s 300-acre plant, located across Doddaballapur and Devanahalli, to check its progress and readiness for upcoming product launches.

Another Apple executive from Cupertino also visited Tata Electronics’ iPhone assembly plant in Hosur.

Foxconn’s new facility in Karnataka is expected to be its second-largest factory after the one in Longhua, China. The company has already invested over $1.7 billion in the Devanahalli plant, which began production last year.

This development comes as Apple is working to increase its production in India and move some of its manufacturing from China due to uncertainty around tariffs.

At the same time, US President Donald Trump has raised concerns with Apple CEO Tim Cook about speeding up production in India. He said India has some of the highest tariffs in the world, making it difficult to sell products there.
