Former Google Engineering Head Prabhu Rambadran Joins Razorpay as SVP of engineering

Razorpay said Prabhu will lead its engineering teams across risk and intelligence, business banking, payments, customer engagement, and core infrastructure. He will also oversee the fintech’s efforts to accelerate product innovation and strengthen its technology stack.

Former Google Engineering Head Prabhu Rambadran Joins Razorpay as SVP of engineering

Digital payments startup Razorpay has appointed Prabhu Rambadran as Senior Vice President of Engineering. He previously served as Head of Engineering at google.

In a statement, Razorpay said Prabhu will lead its engineering teams across risk and intelligence, business banking, payments, customer engagement, and core infrastructure. He will also oversee the fintech’s efforts to accelerate product innovation and strengthen its technology stack.

“His leadership will strengthen our tech foundation as we build AI-first platforms for the next decade of digital payments and banking,” said Shashank Kumar, cofounder and managing director of Razorpay.

“What excites me most about Razorpay is its culture of relentless innovation, the drive to solve complex problems, and make an impact at scale. I’m thrilled to be part of this incredible team as we build secure, intelligent, and future-ready systems that shape the next wave of fintech transformation across India and Southeast Asia,” said Prabhu.

Prabhu brings over 18 years of experience and has held several leadership roles in different organisations. Before joining Google, he worked with Nutanix and Microsoft in both the US and India.

Founded in 2014 by Kumar, and Harshil Mathur, Razorpay has raised approximately $742 million from investors including Tiger Global, GIC, and Ribbit Capital. The fintech has also completed a reverse flip of its parent company from the US to India.
