Flipkart Enters Medicine Delivery Market with 10-Minute Service

Flipkart is launching a 10-minute medicine delivery service to rival its competitors, as reported by The Economic Times.

The company is partnering with registered local chemists in major cities to comply with India’s drug regulations, which prevent foreign-backed e-commerce platforms from holding inventory. Flipkart did not respond to queries at the time of publication.

The service is already live in Bengaluru, Gurugram, and select areas of Mumbai. Recently, Swiggy Instamart started delivering medicines within 10 minutes in collaboration with e-pharmacy PharmEasy.

BigBasket is also planning to enter the space with a medicine delivery service through 1mg, a Tata Digital-owned company.

This growing trend suggests that other quick commerce platforms like Zepto and Blinkit might soon follow suit. Blinkit currently leads the market with a 46% share, followed by Zepto at 29% and Swiggy Instamart at 25%, according to a Motilal Oswal study.

Flipkart Minutes

Flipkart Minutes is Flipkart’s ambitious foray into the quick commerce sector, offering fast and efficient delivery of groceries essentials, and now medicines, in a bid to compete with other players in the rapidly growing market.
