Ex-Udaan Cofounder Amod Malviya Launches New Startup ''Pre6''

Two months after stepping down from udaan’s board, cofounder Amod Malviya has launched a new venture, ‘Pre6’. 

The Bengaluru-based startup, which Malviya co-founded with Udaan’s former CFO Rishi Kedia, is set to make waves in the tech space.

In a LinkedIn post, Malviya shared an image of the founding team and announced the new venture with the simple yet exciting words, “New beginnings!”

Though details about Pre6’s offerings remain scarce, it is described as a "technology, information, and internet" company. The startup's website currently shows a "coming soon" message, leaving many curious about what’s in store. Malviya has been working on the platform since November 2024.

About Amod Malviya

Malviya, an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and a member of the famed 'flipkart Mafia', previously served as the CTO of Flipkart before founding Udaan in 2016. After stepping down from his operational role at Udaan in 2022 and resigning from the board in late 2024, Malviya’s new venture marks his return to the startup scene.

The launch of- Pre6 comes as Udaan, a B2B marketplace faces challenges. The platform’s valuation dropped to $1.8 billion in 2023, down from $3.2 billion in 2020 which reflecting the pressures of a tough funding environment. Despite these setbacks, Udaan managed to increase its gross revenue by just 1.72% in FY24.

Malviya's move to launch new startup Pre6 is in line with the growing trend of startup co-founders exploring new ventures amid the emerging market landscape.
