Zepto has signed an MoU with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to scale early-stage manufacturing startups through its Zepto Nova innovation challenge. 

The six-month programme will mentor startups in hardware, IoT, packaging, and sustainable manufacturing, guiding them from prototype to market-ready products using Zepto’s delivery and digital infrastructure.

The initiative will feature expert-led workshops, Startup India support, and a focus on women-led and Tier II/III ventures. Zepto aims to integrate over 100 Indian startups into its supply chain, offering them market access and product visibility.

Separately, DPIIT signed an MoU with Hero MotoCorp to back early-stage startups in future mobility, clean tech, and deep tech through its Hero For Startups accelerator programme. 

Under the Startup India initiative, selected startups will gain access to Hero MotoCorp’s R&D facilities in India and Germany, its dealer and supplier network, and expert mentorship.

DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv said that the collaboration reinforces the department’s commitment to supporting product-focused startups addressing India’s mobility challenges.

“By connecting industry experience with grassroots innovation, we aim to fast-track the journey from idea to impact, especially in emerging technologies and Tier 2/3 markets,” he said.

Shortlisted startups will have the opportunity to work on paid proof-of-concept projects, piloting their solutions and gaining market exposure.
