DPIIT Partners With The Estée Lauder Companies To Advance Beauty Innovation And Entrepreneurship In India

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (ELC) have signed an agreement to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s growing beauty and personal care industry.

The partnership aims to boost India’s startup ecosystem by providing emerging beauty brands with the resources and support they need, according to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

This collaboration will link Startup India’s platform with ELC’s entrepreneurial program, BEAUTY&YOU India. The program will offer startups funding, mentorship, industry insights and access to a global network of beauty experts.

ELC also announced the expansion of BEAUTY&YOU India, adding a new category to support women-founded startups.

"India’s beauty industry is undergoing a major transformation, and collaborations like this play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. We are excited to work with The Estée Lauder Companies to create new opportunities for emerging beauty brands in India," said DPIIT  joint secretary Sanjiv Singh.

Rohan Vaziralli, general manager at the Estée Lauder Companies India, said, “Through BEAUTY&YOU India, ELC has established a record of supporting founders and innovations that are shaping the future of beauty in India. We are proud to add a dedicated category for female-founded startups, which reflects our longstanding mission to promote women’s advancement and leadership in our business, industry and communities in India.”

Launched in 2022, BEAUTY&YOU India is ELC’s main program to support Indian beauty startups with grants, mentorship and industry access to help them grow and innovate.

This new partnership is part of DPIIT’s ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem. In the past three months, DPIIT has teamed up with organizations like Walmart, Stride Ventures, Apna, and Bhaane Group to support startups in manufacturing, jobs, and supply chains.

In January, DPIIT partnered with Apna to help registered startups find talent. It also signed an agreement with Walmart to provide training, mentorship, and support for manufacturing startups, especially in smaller cities.
