Claypond Capital Names Sekhar Garisa As New MD

Claypond Capital Names Sekhar Garisa As New MD

Claypond Capital, the family investment office of Manipal Group head Dr. Ranjan Pai, has named Sekhar Garisa as its new managing director.

Garisa brings nearly 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship and leadership roles across FMCG, consumer internet, tech, and consulting. 

He joins from Quess Corpwhere as President of Product Businesses,  where he helped turn Foundit into a top talent management platform.

Earlier, he held key roles at Microsoft, McKinsey, and P&G. He holds an engineering degree from NIT Warangal and an MBA from IIM Lucknow.

Sekhar Garisa said in a statement: "There has never been a better time for Indian startups as we see the coming together of quality founders, bold ideas and tech-led innovation. This is the second key hire by the family office in the last four months. In January, Claypond Capital brought on Shravan Subramanyam, former MD of Wipro-GE Healthcare, to lead its medical technology platform.

Earlier this year, the Bengaluru-based firm also took part in fintech startup GrayQuest’s ₹80 crore Series B round and co-led a $35 million Series B round for lending tech company Easy Home Finance.
