SaaS unicorn BrowserStack has acquired Requestly, a tool backed by Y Combinator, for an undisclosed amount.
In a blog post, BrowserStack said the deal will help speed up front-end development and expand its product offerings using Requestly’s large user base.
Backed by Y Combinator and Peak XV Requestly is used by over 200,000 developers at 10,000+ companies. It lets front-end developers intercept, change, and mock API requests right in the browser, making it easier to build and test apps without relying on the backend.

“Requestly was born from our own frustration of wasted developer hours due to broken workflows in end-to-end code testing caused by dependency on the environment and backend team," said Sachin Jain, founder of Requestly. "Joining BrowserStack means we can maintain our core values while accelerating our roadmap to address even more developer pain points.”
“We're excited to accelerate Requestly's disruption of the API mocking and interception space while preserving its open-source foundation. We're backing Requestly's growth while maintaining what developers love about it—this will help them innovate faster in a space ready for fresh thinking,” said Ritesh Arora, cofounder and CEO of BrowserStack.
BrowserStack, backed by Accel, said the acquisition of Requestly will help boost its tools for improving developer productivity.
As mobile development grows, Requestly plans to add support for HTTP interception and mocking on Android emulators and iOS simulators. It will remain an open-source tool, now backed by BrowserStack.
