Blinkit CFO Vipin Kapooria Steps Down After 18-Month Tenure

Vipin Kapooria, the CFO of Eternal-owned quick commerce company Blinkit, has resigned about a year after joining the firm, sources said on Tuesday.

Kapooria, who earlier worked at flipkart, has “moved on” from Blinkit, according to people familiar with the matter.

Blinkit and its parent company, Eternal, have not issued any official statement on the resignation.

The Economic Times reported, quoting a source, that Kapooria is set to return to Flipkart in a senior finance role.

Before joining Flipkart earlier, Kapooria served as Vice President of Business Finance at SoftBank-backed OYO, which is preparing to go public.

Kapooria’s exit comes as competition in the quick commerce sector heats up. It also follows rival Zepto’s recent move to file draft papers with market regulator Sebi to raise Rs 11,000 crore through a confidential IPO process.

Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart are engaged in intense competition in the quick commerce space, while Flipkart and Amazon are also rapidly expanding their presence. Flipkart is reportedly preparing for a possible IPO next year.

Blinkit has recorded strong growth in 2025, with its gross order value surpassing that of Zomato, Eternal’s core food delivery business, for the first time. The company currently operates about 1,816 dark stores and plans to expand to over 2,000 stores by the end of the year.
