BigBasket has started offering 10-minute food delivery in some parts of Bengaluru.
This comes five months after cofounder and CEO Hari Menon shared on X that the Tata-owned company would start food delivery services in 2025.
In his December 2024 post, he also mentioned plans to expand product offerings to over 30,000 items in major cities and start pharma deliveries with Tata 1mg.

Right now, the quick delivery service includes food from Starbucks (a Tata-Starbucks joint venture) and Qmin, a platform run by Indian Hotels Company (IHCL).
Qmin, launched in 2020, is a food delivery service by Tata-owned IHCL. It has its own app where customers can order food from Tata hotels and restaurants. Qmin also runs cafes that sell bakery items, sweets, and drinks. There are 11 Qmin cafes in Bengaluru.
As part of its 10-minute delivery, BigBasket is offering drinks like coffee, tea, and juice, along with snacks, meal bowls, and desserts.
Meanwhile, demand for fast food delivery is growing, with quick commerce platforms like Zepto (Zepto Cafe), Swiggy (Snacc), and Blinkit (Bistro) expanding their services and menus.
Earlier this month, Zepto paused its Zepto Cafe service in several cities, including Delhi, Agra, and Chandigarh, affecting over 40 stores. The company said it was due to supply chain issues, but the service is still running in major metro areas.
