Ashok Chaudhary becomes new chairman of Amul brand operator GCMMF

Ashok Chaudhary, a dairy cooperative leader, was elected unopposed as the new chairman of GCMMF, the federation behind the popular "Amul" brand.

Gordhan Dhameliya was elected unopposed as the vice chairman of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), according to Anand district collector and election officer Praveen Chaudhary.

GCMMF held a meeting to elect its new chairman and vice chairman. The federation includes 18 cooperative dairies from across Gujarat.

"Ashok Chaudhary and Gordhan Dhameliya were elected unopposed as no other nominations were received for the post of chairman and vice chairman," said the collector.

The election was held as the term of the previous office-bearers concludes this month. Ashok Chaudhary, who chairs Mehsana’s Dudhsagar Dairy and Gordhan Dhameliya, head of Rajkot’s Gopal Dairy, were elected unopposed. 

Chaudhary pledged to work for GCMMF’s growth which supports around 36 lakh dairy farmers.
