Krutrim, the artificial intelligence (AI) initiative of Ola, aims to create India's inaugural AI silicon chips by 2026. These chips would be specifically engineered to handle intricate AI activities and workloads.
This is a component of the company's endeavors to enhance its comprehensive AI capabilities, encompassing fundamental models, cloud computing, and semiconductor technology.
The initial chip family consists of Bodhi, designed for artificial intelligence applications, Sarv, intended for general computing purposes, and Ojas, optimized for edge computing tasks.
The chips would facilitate the advancement of quicker and more effective AI systems, representing a significant achievement in India's pursuit of technical independence.

The business intends to launch Bodhi 2 by 2028, which will undergo training with more than 10 trillion parameters and will be capable of scaling to exascale supercomputing.
In addition, the company has introduced Krutrim Cloud, which combines artificial intelligence and general-purpose capabilities. It has also developed a range of specialized artificial intelligence services to assist the Indian developer community in creating technological applications at a more affordable cost.
Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder of Ola, said: “We in India and we in the world actually are living in such a changing, transformative time. This is the time of AI, This is the time of the future of computing. And India needs to build its own AI stack,”
