PM Modi meets Elon Musk during US visit : Discusses about AI, Space & Mobility

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk in Washington during a two-day trip to the US. They discussed space, technology, innovation, mobility and governance, as Modi shared on X (formerly Twitter). 

The Prime Minister's Office said they also talked about AI, entrepreneurship and good governance.

“We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about such as space, mobility, technology and innovation. I talked about India’s efforts towards reform and furthering ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’,” said PM Modi on X.

The Prime Minister also shared that he met Elon Musk’s family during the meeting.  

Earlier, PM Modi met US intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard to discuss stronger cooperation in cybersecurity and emerging threats.  

Later in the day, he will attend a White House dinner with US President Donald Trump.  

Musk’s meeting with PM Modi comes a month after he met ndian business leaders at SpaceX’s Starbase in Texas. At that time he emphasized the need for deeper collaboration and reducing trade barriers to boost business between India and the US.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy criticized Elon Musk for acting like a government official to secure business deals. He claimed Musk’s meeting with a foreign leader was for personal benefit, not for Americans. When asked about Musk’s role, Trump said he would discuss it with him later that day.
