The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have signed a Letter of Intent to explore AI-powered Digital Twin technology for better infrastructure planning.
The agreement was signed during Dr. Neeraj Mittal's visit to Geneva, where he aimed to boost india’s global digital leadership and strengthen international telecom cooperation.
DoT's “Sangam: Digital Twin” project creates a virtual model of physical infrastructure, including telecom networks. It allows real-time monitoring, simulation, and analysis to improve planning and development.
By using AI and 5G, this technology helps make better decisions, boosts efficiency and builds future-ready digital infrastructure.
