Reliance Expands Partnership with Google Cloud

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) has announced an expanded partnership with google Cloud to develop advanced artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in India, aiming to drive the country’s digital and economic growth.

The collaboration builds on a decade-long association between the two companies, which earlier focused on expanding affordable internet access. In its new phase, the partnership will prioritize building secure, sustainable AI infrastructure, powered by Reliance’s green energy and supported by Jio’s nationwide digital network.

Under the agreement, RIL will establish a state-of-the-art cloud region and network infrastructure at Jamnagar, fully aligned with Google Cloud’s global standards. This facility will be capable of handling the most demanding AI workloads, enabling Reliance to accelerate innovation across its retail, telecom, energy, and other business verticals.

Google Cloud will deploy its AI hypercomputer and integrated AI stack, offering generative AI models, development platforms, and AI-driven applications. Together, the companies aim to deliver performance, reliability, and security to power India’s rapidly growing retail and enterprise ecosystems.

Reliance Jio will provide high-capacity fiber connectivity, linking Jamnagar with key metros such as Mumbai and Delhi. The new infrastructure will also support enterprises, startups, developers, and public sector organizations with high-performance AI-first services.

Sustainability will remain central, with the new facility powered entirely by Reliance’s renewable energy initiatives, ensuring operations at hyperscale.

Commenting on the development, Mukesh Ambani said:

“This partnership with Google Cloud marks a new chapter in India’s technology journey. By bringing Google Cloud’s AI capabilities to Jamnagar, supported by Reliance’s infrastructure, renewable energy, and nationwide network, we are laying the foundation for India to become a global leader in AI. Just as Jio and Google came together to democratize the internet for every Indian, we will now democratize intelligence for every Indian.”
