Ecommerce platform Flipkart has announced that Dan Bartlett, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Walmart, will join its Board, starting November 21, 2024.
Walmart owns nearly 80.8% of Flipkart. Bartlett brings years of experience in public relations and government affairs from his work with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Public Strategies, and the White House.
Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board, Flipkart Group said, "Dan has been a close partner for Flipkart since our association with Walmart in 2018. We are proud to welcome him to the Board, and will greatly benefit from his extensive experience in strategy, and building long-standing responsible and sustainable businesses,".
The announcement follows Walmart's third-quarter earnings, which were boosted by Flipkart's Big Billion Days festival during the festive season. Walmart's global ecommerce sales grew by 27% year-on-year, and its international advertising business saw a 50% increase, mainly driven by Flipkart.
