Meesho, an e-commerce company backed by Softbank, announced on Friday that it has appointed Hari S Bhartia, the founder of Jubilant Bhartia Group, and three other seasoned business executives as independent directors.
In addition to Bhartia, Meesho has recruited former JP Morgan Chairman Kalpana Morparia for South and Southeast Asia, Rohit Bhagat, the non-executive Chairman of the board at PhonePe, and Surojit Chatterjee, the CEO of San Francisco-based AI company Ema.
It was further stated that the Jubilant Bhartia Group has four flagship companies that are listed on Indian stock exchanges, with a combined market capitalization of approximately $7.65 billion.

Bhartia is also the Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Jubilant Pharmova Ltd, Jubilant Ingrevia Ltd, and Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd. These companies are the master franchisees of Domino's Pizza and Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in India.
Morparia played a critical role in the capital raising endeavors of the group and the merger of ICICI Ltd with ICICI Bank in 2002 while at ICICI Bank prior to joining JP Morgan.
Bhagat is presently the non-executive Chairman of the board at PhonePe, an independent director at AssetMark, and the Lead Independent Trustee of the Franklin Templeton ETF Trust.
