[Funding alert] Legaltech platform Sama raises seed funding from Campus Fund

Sama, which provides a platform that allows businesses, organisations, and people to settle legal disputes online, has secured an undisclosed sum in seed funding from Campus Fund.

The Bengaluru-based business said that it would speed up product development, scale the core workforce, and increase its market presence, as per reported by The Economic Times.

Sama’s co-founder Akshetha Ashok said, “We believe that ODR (online dispute resolution) is the future of the justice system. Our vision is a world where anyone who files a case receives due care and attention, as well as a fair and equitable outcome in a quick and cost-effective manner.”

Sama can assist in resolving a wide range of disagreements, regardless of their size or location. Using technology and software, the legal tech sector offers legal services.

“The solution that Sama team has built is a crying need of the hour, not only in India, but across the globe,” Ambika Pande, student investment partner at Campus Fund who was a part of the deal, said in a statement. “It gives them a strong advantage to be the first movers and create an alternative judicial ecosystem in the country.”

Sama is the only ODR platform in India that collaborates with governmental entities to handle criminal compoundable problems, including the police administration in Madhya Pradesh and state legal services authorities in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
