Before starting Ather Energy, Swapnil gained useful experience, through internships and early career roles. In 2011, he interned at Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) in Bengaluru, where he designed and built a test rig to simulate boiler slag buildup. This project, helped BHEL test new boiler coatings for boilers.
