Square Yards raises $35M funding, eyes unicorn status ahead of 2026 IPO

SquareYards, an integrated real estate and mortgage platform has raised $35 million (around INR 312 crore) in a funding round led by Korean VC Smile Gate and other existing investors, valuing the company at $900 million.

Sources say the company is in advanced talks to raise $100 million from a few large funds, through a mix of debt and equity.

Once this round closes, Square Yards is expected to become a unicorn as it prepares for a ₹2,000 crore IPO in 2026.

Founded in 2014, Square Yards is an all-in-one real estate and mortgage platform that handles property search, discovery, transactions, home loans, interiors, rentals, and property management. Its fintech arm, Urban Money, offers housing, personal, and secured loans.

About 87% of its business comes from partner channels such as brokers, advisors, and lending partners, while the rest comes from its own direct operations.

In the past year, Square Yards says it facilitated ₹12,000 crore in property transactions and ₹66,000 crore in loans.

For FY25, the company reported ₹1,410 crore (around $170 million) in revenue and ₹46 crore in EBITDA, supported by a strong real estate market and growing mortgage distribution.
