Blinkit gets another Rs 600 Crore from parent Eternal for expansion

Eternal, the parent company of quick-commerce leader Blinkit, has invested ₹600 crore into the platform, according to filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

This is Blinkit’s third funding round this year, after ₹500 crore in January and ₹1,500 crore in February, bringing the total investment in 2025 to ₹2,600 crore.

With this new funding, Blinkit’s dark store count is expected to reach 2100 by December 2025, exceeding its earlier target of 2000, according to Eternal’s earlier filings. The funds will help speed up expansion and strengthen Blinkit’s inventory focused model in key cities.

Eternal had dedicated more than 90% of its quarterly capital expenditure to Blinkit, driven by the move to an inventory-based model.

“The upcoming expansion will build on the company’s growth in Q2 FY26 and for 2025 overall. Blinkit added 272 new stores in the quarter — its highest in the last ten quarters — bringing the total network to 1,816 stores by September 2025.

The new funding comes as competition in quick commerce heats up, with rivals raising funds and expanding rapidly.

With fresh investments across the sector, the industry is entering a high-spending phase with faster store openings, larger product ranges, and quicker deliveries.

In this context, competitors are also boosting capital and speeding up their expansions, setting the stage for another intense battle in quick commerce.
