Spacetech Startup Digantara Raises $50 Mn funding led by Reliance

Digantara, a spacetech startup, has raised $50 million in its Series B round, led by Reliance Industries, according to a filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

The round, which values Digantara at approximately $200 million, also saw participation from 360 One Asset, Tokyo-based asset manager SBI Holdings, upgrad founder Ronnie Screwvala, and existing investors Peak XV Partners and Kalaari Capital.

While the Bengaluru-based company did not disclose details beyond the amount raised and the investors involved, filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC) show that Digantara’s board has allotted 8,451 Series B preference shares at an issue price of ₹5,14,793 each, raising ₹435 crore (approximately $50 million).

Reliance Business Ventures led the round with an investment of ₹261 crore (around $30 million), followed by 360 One which invested ₹87 crore (about $10 million). SBI Ventures contributed ₹26 crore (around $3 million) while existing investors Peak XV Partners and Kalaari Capital invested ₹30.47 crore ($3.5 million) and ₹26 crore ($3 million), respectively. upGrad founder Ronnie Screwvala also participated in the round with an investment of ₹4.37 crore (around $500,000).

The latest funding will be used to support global expansion, with a particular focus on the US, following the launch of the Golden Dome missile defence programme—a multi-layered system that integrates ground, sea, air, and space-based technologies. Digantara is among the companies selected to participate in the programme.

A portion of the capital will also be deployed to scale production and develop satellite manufacturing capabilities. The company currently has three satellites in orbit: its first two missions focused on space weather, while the most recent mission was centred on space object tracking.

Founded in 2018 by Anirudh Sharma, Digantara is a space situational awareness company that develops space- and ground-based infrastructure to enable safe and secure space operations, providing data-driven orbital insights to governments, defence agencies, and commercial customers worldwide.
