ShopDeck, a D2C-focused software provider, has raised $8 million in Series B funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with support from Elevation Capital, Chiratae Ventures, and General Catalyst.
Funding Utilisation
The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the funds to hire more talent and enhance its product offerings.
ShopDeck cofounder Rishabh Verma told Inc42, “We will hire a much higher quality team and invest in the product and, of course, (utilise funds) for new experiments,”
ShopDeck was founded in 2022 by Verma and Harmin Shah, the former founders of WMall, after shutting down their e-commerce marketplace.
Verma said, “We wrapped up that business in 2022 and pivoted to this model (ShopDeck) from scratch. We help merchants in not only setting up the storefront, but also optimising the storefront, and help them sell D2C profitably,”.
The startup provides services like website creation and customization, catalog management, and marketing and pricing strategy support for D2C brands. It mainly works with brands in design-focused categories like fashion, apparel, jewelry, merchandise, and home and kitchen.
Verma said that 90% of the merchants it works with are selling their products for the first time. “ShopDeck has built 500 brands from scratch in some way to be able to sell via their website in the last two years,” he added.
The startup has worked with brands like JerseyKart, Rizik, ichaa, AS Platinum, Fargo, and others.
