Shilpa Shetty-backed WickedGud raises Rs 20 crore in round

WickedGud, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) food products brand, has raised Rs 20 crore in its latest funding round from existing investors, including Orios Venture Partners, Asiana Fund, Shilpa Shetty, and others. 

The funding round also includes participation from new investors such as Shajikumar Devakar, Co-Founder of Neo Wealth Management; Ajay Mehta, former Content Head at WPP; Sonika Ravula, General Partner at Optional Gravity; and Rahul Colaco, CEO at Fraser & Neave (F&N).

The new funding will help WickedGud expand across modern retail, local stores, and online channels, while improving its supply chain and backend operations. Part of the funds will also be used to speed up product innovation, especially in fast-growing categories like cup noodles and Korean-style spicy noodles.

Co-founded in 2021 by Bhuman Dani, WickedGud is a direct-to-consumer startup that aims to make everyday food healthier, starting with instant meals. Its products are made using wholesome ingredients and a special steaming and air-drying technology to reduce junk while keeping the taste.

The company operates in the highly competitive instant noodles and pasta market, where taste, availability, and pricing are key. By improving everyday staples without positioning itself as a premium-only brand, WickedGud appeals to a wide range of consumers.

WickedGud sells its products across major online and quick-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Blinkit, Instamart, Zepto, BigBasket, and flipkart. It also has a strong offline presence in over 5,000 retail stores across India, including more than 1,500 Reliance Smart Bazaar stores and 50 DMart outlets.

Recently, the company introduced a ₹20 pack of Masala Noodles for general trade to boost affordability and sales in price-sensitive markets. It is also expanding its Korean-style noodles range with new flavours like Korean Fiery 2x Spicy, Korean Chilli Cheese, and Korean Chilli Chicken.
