IOT-based security startup Spintly has raised $8 million in a funding round led by Accel.
The round also saw participation from Enrission India Capital, SucSEED Ventures, Alumni Ventures and Chakra Growth Fund.
The new funding will mainly be used to grow sales, business development, and marketing in India, the Middle East, and the US, and to support R&D for AI-powered smart building technologies.

“Our system is retrofittable and backward compatible,” cofounder Parkar said. “Many buildings have access control systems that are 10 to 15 years old. Customers don’t need to rip and replace them. We can go on top of existing systems and allow a gradual transition.”
“Access control has long scaled with buildings; more doors meant more wiring, hardware and friction. That model no longer works as enterprises expand across distributed, digitally connected spaces," said Barath Shankar Subramanian, partner, Accel.
About Spintly
Founded in 2020 by Rohin Parkar and Malcolm D’Souza, Goa-based Spintly makes wireless access control and smart building solutions that replace traditional wired systems with mobile-first, smartphone-based platforms.
The company serves large offices, tech parks, co-working spaces, and enterprises, with India as its biggest market and a growing presence in the Middle East and the US.
Its products include Bluetooth and NFC access readers, QR-code readers and biometric devices like facial recognition and fingerprint scanners. On the software side, Spintly offers cloud-based tools for access management, attendance tracking, visitor management and video surveillance with AI-powered analytics.
Spintly’s patented wireless mesh system lets access controls be installed without extensive wiring, cutting installation time, labor, and costs. The company says this can reduce project costs by up to 80% compared to traditional systems.
The startup designs its hardware in-house and manufactures through contract partners in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. India remains its largest market with over 500 customers, while it has around 100 in the US and 10–15 in the Middle East.
