Kitchenware brand Cumin Co raises $1.5 Mn led by Fireside Ventures

Cumin Co., a kitchenware brand, has raised $1.5 million (₹13.16 crore) in its first institutional funding round, led by Fireside Ventures with participation from Huddle Ventures.

The funds will be used to grow enamel coating production in India and improve the supply chain.

“When we began exploring healthy cookware, we were clear that teflon was not an option. Traditional non-stick coatings such as teflon contain chemicals like PTFE, PFOA, and PFAS, which we believe should not come in contact with food,” Niharika Joshi, co-founder of Cumin Co, said.

Co-founded in 2025 by Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi, the Gurugram-based Cumin Co combines stylish design with functionality while avoiding harmful chemicals often found in traditional non-stick or metal cookware.

 Its products, priced between Rs 1999 and Rs 7000, target households earning ₹30–35 lakh and above.

The startup makes 100% toxin-free enamel cast iron cookware, such as pots and pans, blending traditional durability with modern safety.

It sells mainly through its own website and Amazon using a direct-to-consumer model, ensuring better pricing and customer experience. The brand also focuses on sustainability with plastic-free packaging and responsibly sourced materials.

The startup says it has reached ₹1 crore in monthly recurring revenue (MRR), growing 20% month-on-month with strong repeat sales. It now plans to expand into quick-commerce platforms like Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart in select categories.
