Healthtech startup Stance Health has secured $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by General Catalyst, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm.
Other investors, including Antler, DeVC (backed by Z47), and angel investors such as Swiggy cofounders Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy and Onsurity cofounder Kulin Shah, also participated in this round.
The startup plans to use the fresh funds to grow its musculoskeletal (MSK) care model in India, improve its technology platform and expand its team and physical centers in Bengaluru and other cities.

“There is a gap between people who have a condition but do not trust the existing ecosystem. They may continue visiting orthopaedics, but an orthopaedic will not teach them how to exercise and recover. Instead, they will primarily provide medication and some guidance, but they are not the ones who will be with the patients throughout their recovery journey,” said, Rohit Arora , cofounder and CEO of Stance Health.
“We need to be as close to the customer as possible. So, the idea is to first see how deeply we can expand within Bengaluru with a few more formats. Currently, we have a flagship 2,000-square-foot format, but we will be experimenting with multiple formats. I think we will try expanding to one more city next year,” he added.
Anand Chandrasekaran, partner at General Catalyst, said, "Stance Health's model stands out in India by blending offline touchpoints with online engagement, setting it apart from approaches in developed markets. Rohit and Ninad’s ability to combine clinical excellence with scalable, consumer-first execution is precisely what the Indian healthcare ecosystem needs."
"MSK care has seen limited innovation despite its growing burden on healthcare systems. Stance Health’s model not only improves patient access to structured treatment but also builds a scalable, tech-enabled framework that can set new industry benchmarks,” said Nitin Sharma, partner at Antler.
