Anthropic have secured $30 billion in Series G funding, led by GIC and Coatue, bringing Anthropic’s post-money valuation to $380 billion. The round was co-led by D. E. Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ, and MGX. This new capital will support continued frontier AI research, accelerate product development, and expand infrastructure—further strengthening Anthropic’s leadership in enterprise AI and coding solutions.
The funding round includes participation from major global investors such as Accel, Addition, Alpha Wave Global, Altimeter, AMP PBC, Appaloosa LP, Baillie Gifford, Bessemer Venture Partners, affiliated funds of BlackRock and Blackstone, D1 Capital Partners, Fidelity Management & Research Company, General Catalyst, Greenoaks, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Insight Partners, Jane Street, JPMorganChase (through its Security and Resiliency Initiative and Growth Equity Partners), Lightspeed Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, NX1 Capital, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Sands Capital, Sequoia Capital, Temasek, TowerBrook, TPG, Whale Rock Capital, and XN. The round also includes a portion of the previously announced investments from Microsoft and NVIDIA.
“Whether it is entrepreneurs, startups, or the world’s largest enterprises, the message from our customers is the same: Claude is increasingly becoming critical to how businesses work,” said Krishna Rao, Anthropic’s Chief Financial Officer. “This fundraising reflects the incredible demand we are seeing from these customers, and we will use this investment to continue building the enterprise-grade products and models they have come to depend on.”
It has been less than three years since Anthropic generated its first dollar in revenue. Today, the company’s annualized run-rate revenue has reached $14 billion, growing more than 10x each year over the past three years.
This rapid growth has been fueled by Anthropic’s strong position as a preferred intelligence platform for enterprises and developers. Over the past year, the number of customers spending more than $100,000 annually on Claude (based on run-rate revenue) has increased sevenfold. Companies that initially adopt Claude for a single use case such as the API, Claude Code, or Claude for Work are increasingly expanding usage across their organizations. Two years ago, only about a dozen customers were spending over $1 million annually with Anthropic; today, that number has surpassed 500. Notably, eight of the Fortune 10 companies are now Claude customers.

Claude Code marks a new phase in agentic coding, transforming how software teams develop applications. It became generally available in May 2025, and its run-rate revenue has since grown to over $2.5 billion—more than doubling since the start of 2026. Weekly active users of Claude Code have also doubled since January 1. A recent analysis estimated that around 4% of all public commits on GitHub worldwide were authored by Claude Code, which is double the share recorded just one month earlier.
Business subscriptions to Claude Code have quadrupled since early 2026, with enterprise customers now contributing more than half of its total revenue. Beyond coding, the same advanced capabilities are enabling new applications in areas such as financial and data analysis, sales, cybersecurity, and scientific research.
In January alone, Anthropic introduced more than 30 new products and features, including Cowork, which extends Claude Code’s engineering strengths to a wider range of knowledge-work tasks. Cowork offers eleven open-source plugins that allow organizations to customize Claude for specific roles, such as sales, legal, or finance teams. The company also expanded into healthcare and life sciences, making Claude for Enterprise available to organizations operating under HIPAA compliance requirements.
“Since our initial investment in 2025, Anthropic’s focus on agentic coding and enterprise-grade AI systems has accelerated its progress toward large-scale adoption,” said Philippe Laffont, Founder & Portfolio Manager of Coatue. “The team’s ability to rapidly scale its offerings further positions Anthropic as a leader in a highly competitive AI market.”
Claude’s cutting-edge intelligence continues to improve with each new release. The latest model, Opus 4.6, launched last week, is designed to power advanced agents capable of handling entire categories of real-world tasks. It can create professional-quality documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with a high level of accuracy and polish. Opus 4.6 is also currently the top-performing model on GDPval-AA, a benchmark that evaluates performance on economically valuable knowledge work across areas such as finance, legal services, and other professional domains.
“Anthropic is the clear category leader in enterprise AI, demonstrating breakthrough capabilities and setting a new standard for safety, performance, and scale that will drive their long-term success,” said Choo Yong Cheen, Chief Investment Officer, Private Equity, GIC.
The Series G funding will also support the expansion of our infrastructure as we work to make Claude accessible wherever our customers operate. Claude is currently the only frontier AI model available across the world’s three largest cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (Bedrock), google Cloud (Vertex AI), and Microsoft Azure (Foundry). It is trained and deployed on a diverse range of AI hardware, including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs, allowing us to optimize workloads based on the most suitable chips. This multi-platform and multi-hardware approach ensures stronger performance, flexibility, and reliability for enterprise customers who rely on Claude for mission-critical tasks.
The growing demand from enterprises and developers highlights the trust they place in Claude for their most important work. As AI adoption scales across industries, we remain focused on advancing our models, expanding our products, and strengthening partnerships to lead the next phase of AI implementation.
About Anthropic
Anthropic is an AI research company that focuses on building AI systems that are safe, reliable, and easy to control. It operates as a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), which means it aims to create technology that benefits society, not just shareholders. The company puts strong emphasis on AI safety and uses an approach called “constitutional AI,” where models are trained using a clear set of guiding principles to make them more helpful and honest. Anthropic is best known for creating Claude, a family of advanced AI language models and chatbots. Claude models are designed to have strong reasoning skills, handle large amounts of information at once, and reduce harmful or misleading responses. The company offers AI tools for businesses and developers, including products like Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Claude 3 Opus, and Claude Code, which help improve productivity in tasks such as coding, writing, and data analysis.
