33&Brew raises Rs 20 Cr Series A funding led by Optimistic Capital

33&Brew, a  Vinyl-themed microbrewery brand, has raised Rs 20 crore ($2.2 million) in a Series A funding round led by Optimistic Capital.

Optimistic is a ₹200 crore fund focused on the beer and microbrewery sector, and is reportedly the only VC fund dedicated to this space. The firm plans to invest in two more microbreweries in central Bengaluru.

So far, the fund has deployed ₹30 crore in initial investments, with the remaining ₹170 crore planned for rollout over the next three years.

The startup plans to use the funds for construction and expansion, 33&Brew said in a press release.

"Structuring this unique fixed-interval financial product in the microbrewery space has been incredibly exciting. By enabling small ticket sizes as a CAT-1 Angel fund, we're democratising access to high-potential investments, allowing everyday investors to participate in india's booming craft beer revolution. The investors also get a unique financial product which gives out periodic payouts to hedge returns compared to other products,” said Edwin Daniel, Founder of Optimistic Capital.
