In an all-cash transaction, the agritech startup DeHaat picked up the fruit export division of Freshtrop Fruits, an Ahmedabad-listed fruit export company.
As per the agreement, Freshtrop’s export system, evaluation, wrapping, and precooling facilities, as well as labour, comprising the senior leadership team, have been integrated into DeHaat’s ecosystem, as reported by Inc42.

“We established our export business 18 months ago and are today exporting more than 20 agri-produce from India to the Middle East, UK & EU. We see strong synergies around the complementary core competencies between DeHaat & Freshtrop,” DeHaat’s cofounder and CEO Shashank Kumar said.
The firm hopes to reach a bigger worldwide market by partnering with this organisation to offer its full-stack agricultural services, which include access, finance, insurance, tailored advice, and high-quality inputs.

Frestrop was established in 1992 by Ashok Motiani and his family. The company sells grapes as well as other fruits, such as mangos and pomegranates, from India to other nations.
DeHaat is a rapidly expanding start-up in the agri-tech industry and one of the few businesses offering the Indian agricultural community end-to-end solutions & services. They are developing AI-enabled tools to transform farming’s supply chain and production efficiency.
At the moment, they are serving more than 1.8 million farmers in 12 agricultural states in India through a vast network of more than 11,000 DeHaat Centres and 503 FPOs. Additionally, we offer farmers AI-enabled crop advisories in regional languages for over 30 crops.
