IIMA Ventures (formerly IIMA-CIIE) and Appreciate Capital are leading the Rs 3.6 crore seed fundraising round for houseware startup Basil.

IIMA Ventures (formerly IIMA-CIIE) and Appreciate Capital are leading the Rs 3.6 crore seed fundraising round for houseware startup Basil.

Angel investors including Brij Bhushan, co-founder of Magicpin, Mohit Sadaani, co-founder of The Moms Co., Aprameya Radhakrishna, co-founder of Koo, Abhishek Goyal, co-founder of Tracxn, and Malini Adapureddy, founder of Deconstruct, also participated in the round.

The capital will be used to increase its D2C presence, reach through online retailers, and product line.

Basil wants to strengthen the industry with innovative ideas based on customer demands, quality materials, effective designs, and visual appeal. They sell their items pan-India through their D2C platform and Amazon.

In the upcoming year, the business based in Bengaluru intends to introduce a new line of bento boxes tailored specifically for professionals who work as well as kid-friendly lunch packs.
