Neeraj Chopra born on 24 December 1997

His family is largely involved in agriculture

Playing at Shivaji stadium in Panipat, he saw some javelin throwers and began participating himself

Jaiveer Choudhary recognised his early talent and became his first coach 

He soon won his first medal, a bronze in the district championships 

In 2013, Neeraj Chopra entered his first international competition 

He won his first international medal in 2014 

Chopra won gold in the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships with a throw of 85.23 metres 

Chopra missed the 2019 World Championships in Doha due to bone spurs in his elbow 

Chopra made his debut at the Olympics, representing India and won the gold medal
