Way2News, a hyperlocal news platform based in Hyderabad, has secured $14 million in a new round of funding. The round was led by existing investor WestBridge Capital, with venture capitalist Sashi Reddi participating.
The funds are intended to be utilized by the company to enhance its market presence in existing markets, such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, as well as to extend into other South Indian states, including Karnataka and Kerala.
Way2News offers concise, hyperlocal news that is derived from a variety of citizen journalists and stringer reporters, and it covers a wide range of regions, including districts, villages, and mandals. Additionally, it offers a variety of national and international news on its platform.

Way2News utilizes cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence to provide real-time news in eight languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati.
At present, Way2News serves approximately 100 districts in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Subsequent to this funding round, the organization intends to expand its coverage to 42 additional districts in Karnataka and Kerala.
