Vivek Sinha, the former COO of Unacademy, announced the establishment of a new company, Beyond Odds Technologies, with a $11 million seed investment made up of a combination of debt and equity.
Matrix Partners India and Lightspeed India led the investment round. Among the other investors are InnoVen Capital, Alteria Capital, Oyo founder Ritesh Agarwal, Unacademy founder Gaurav Munjal, Upgrad founder Mayank Kumar, Livspace founder Ramakant Sharma and SoftBank partner Sumer Juneja, as reported by ET.

On April 20, the company plans to introduce Emversity, an educational brand with a Bengaluru centre, according to Sinha, who spoke with ET. By June, six more launches will take place in Hyderabad, Delhi, Nagpur, Kochi, and Ranchi.
Emversity will provide undergraduate programmes in emergency and trauma care technology, anaesthesia and operating room technology, and hospital administration during the current academic year.
“Emversity is dedicated to preparing India’s youth for the workforce and fostering the growth of sunrise industries through scalable skilled manpower. With our long-standing acquaintance with Vivek, we commend his grasp of the issue and capacity to establish pioneering institutions,” Rajat Agarwal, managing director at Matrix Partners India, said.
