How Indian Businesses Can Build a Truly International Presence in 2025

Business in India is booming, with a 5.4% growth in the last quarter of 2024. This, coupled with the expected lowering of interest rate increases, is set to help spur the Indian economy to one of its biggest highs in ages.

This includes an increase in jobs. In a Reuters survey, Indian businesses indicated that they expected to increase hiring in 2025 to the highest rate since 2005 (when the survey began).

With a bright new year coming ahead, it’s time for Indian businesses to look outward. Establishing themselves with a strong international presence in their desired markets is a must, even if it’s just for show.

To truly succeed in building an international presence in 2025, however, every business needs to be mindful. Use these tips and guidelines to help you establish your business as an international brand, without breaking the bank:

Start with Understanding Your Budget and Needs

You can expand internationally in several ways, so focus first on what you can afford and what you need. For example, if you are a B2B production company and need greater access to international businesses to partner with, then you may not even need a full office at all.

You can instead rent Birmingham virtual offices and use the call forwarding or answering service to keep in better touch with UK-based production companies. This way, you can start setting up new supply chain lines that is convenient to your client, while minimizing how much your expansion efforts cost you, personally.

If Opening a Physical Office, Hire Locals

One of the biggest mistakes Western companies often make trying to expand into the east is assume it’s business as usual and bring in a Western expert to lead the charge. This always falters, because cultural and economic differences mean you need a different approach towards business.

Take note, and hire local experts who are there to help you better position your business for the markets that you want. This applies to every new country you consider opening up your business to, including further East yourself.

Attend Conferences (and Ideally Speak)

It isn’t just setting up a physical (or virtual) presence that can help you build up an international presence. You can also work on building up your reputation. Start first with simple guest posting on industry relevant publications.

Then work on getting invited as a guest panellist or speaker at local events. Build on that kind of momentum until you have access to international platforms where you can showcase your and your business’ expertise.

You don’t even necessarily need to take up a secondary job as a speaker, either. There are also fairs, expos, and more where you can bring your business to the forefront of new markets.

A huge part of growing your business is growing trust. Attaching your business or personal name to notable institutions is a great way to build that trust with an international audience. It’s also how you can network with otherwise inaccessible professionals and businesses, giving you even more business opportunities than if you kept your operations at home.
