Jio Frames - Reliance Jio Unveils AI-Powered Smart Glasses

Reliance Jio has stepped into the smart eyewear market with the launch of Jio Frames, an AI-powered pair of glasses revealed at the company’s 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM). With this move, the Mukesh Ambani-led company aims to redefine how Indians interact with AI in their daily lives, entering a space currently led by global players like Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses.

Announcing the product, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, described Jio Frames as “an AI-powered wearable platform, an ecosystem made for India with support for multiple Indian languages. It is a hands-free, AI-powered companion designed for the way India lives, works and plays.”

Unlike typical gadgets, Jio Frames is being positioned as a lifestyle tool, offering a multilingual AI voice assistant, HD photo and video capture with cloud backup, seamless integration with Jio’s AI ecosystem, and task-specific assistance—from cooking recipes to travel guidance.

The device features built-in open-ear speakers, allowing users to take calls, attend meetings, and listen to music or podcasts without blocking ambient sounds—making it safer and more natural for on-the-go use.

Reliance highlighted the “desi touch” of Jio Frames, emphasizing support for several Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Bengali. This multilingual capability ensures that the device can serve a broad spectrum of Indian users.

While pricing and availability details have not yet been disclosed, the launch of Jio Frames underscores Reliance’s ambition to make AI wearables mainstream in India and challenge global competitors.
