T-Hub, Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Grant INR 4 mn to 4 Indian Start-ups

T-Hub, which guides entrepreneurs’ success with defined results through successful global collaborations, today revealed the outcomes of its programme with Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India (RNTBCI), a global technical and development centre. The T-Hub Open Innovation Challenge attracted some of the most creative automotive start-ups, which RNTBCI connected with.

Four start-up companies—Imaginate, mSense, MayaMD, and RACEnergy—were given INR 4 million each to build their winning Proof of Concepts (PoCs). The winning start-ups also had the chance to present to the Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India (RNTBCI) leadership and have access to their extensive network of mentors.

Earlier this year, T-Hub and Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India (RNTBCI) collaborated on the Open Innovation Challenge, giving start-ups the chance to take part under themes such Mobility as a Service, First and Last Mile Connectivity, Circular Economy, and Digitization. Over 150 submissions from start-ups across the country offering various solutions were submitted to the programme. Based on the themes of the programme, 80+ start-ups were selected via a thorough screening by T-Hub and RNTBCI. A pre-pitch session featured a group of 20 start-ups, and another 10 were selected to focus on certain use cases, as per reported by Business World.

MSR, CEO, T-Hub, said, “The program offered a great opportunity for these exciting young companies to experience the world-class support and capabilities of RNTBCI while accelerating their products and solutions to market. In addition, collaboration with the start-ups enabled RNTBCI to expand its innovation scope, connecting it to disruptive technologies that support its mission.”

The program focus on automotive space including AI, IoT, blockchain, robotic process automation (RPA), electrification, big data, AR/VR, application development, cloud-based, materials, alternative fuel etc. Growth stage startups with Minimum Viable Product (MVP) ready, in Electric vehicle (EV), Automated vehicle (AV) and Assistive technology (AT)  technology, bio-based materials, internet of waste, re-use, upcycle anywhere from India.

The programme offered the shortlisted start-ups a number of advantages, such as exclusive access to mentorship from senior figures in the automotive sector and the chance to work from the T-Hub facility, the largest innovation campus in the world, with access to cutting-edge design and product development resources. Additionally, they had the option to construct a paid Proof of Concept together and identify a fresh use case for their present products (POC).

The programme was administered by T-Hub in a hybrid style, and it helped the selected start-ups by improving their pitch decks and showcasing demonstrations. For start-ups that made the short list, T-Hub also brings in top-tier industry leaders, mentors, and business scaling possibilities.
