Sunfox Technologies, a health-tech startup, has secured Rs 15 crore in a pre-Series A funding round anchored by Venture Catalysts. Finvolve, Universal Group, RP Singhvi Group, and others have also participated in the IA Growth Opportunities Fund I and Brew Opportunities Fund.
The company had previously secured a Rs 5 crore investment from USAID through SAMRIDH Health and LetsVenture. Shark Tank India also featured it. Sunfox disclosed in a press release that the additional funds will be allocated to the company's expansion in India and globally, with an emphasis on the scaling of its primary innovation, Spandan.
Sunfox, a research and development laboratory that is dedicated to the creation of innovative healthcare technologies for the digital era. Spandan, the company's primary product, is a portable ECG device that is based on a smartphone. It can be used to obtain clinically accurate 12-lead ECG readings, enabling users to monitor their cardiac health and detect heart attacks in real time.

Spandan has been utilized by more than 30,000 individuals in 20 countries and has prevented the loss of over 10,000 lives by early detection of cardiac conditions, according to the Dehradun-based company. This technology is demonstrating its importance in India as it navigates a significant increase in heart attacks following the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Dehradun, Sunfox has established a state-of-the-art in-house R&D and manufacturing facility that has garnered global recognition from esteemed institutions such as Oxford and Wharton.
