"Farming is not profitable, farming is not socially acceptable or even beneficial in terms of social respect." Such were the thoughts of the people when both the brothers– Satyajit Hange and Ajinkya Hange – left their 9 to 5 banking jobs and started moving forward to the farming field. They faced negative comments, skepticism, and criticism from their village.
Despite all these challenges, they chose to follow the voice of their hearts to pursue agriculture and do something amazing from there. With unwavering faith, patience, and perseverance, they transformed what others dismissed into a thriving business worth crores—Two Brothers Organic Farms (TBOF).
Early Life of Brothers
Two brothers – Satyajit Hange and Ajinkya Hange – co-founded Two Brothers Organic Farms, based in Pune. Initially, they did everything by the book—they were born into a farming family, were educated in the city, and settled into corporate jobs at Citibank and HSBC.
For over a decade, they followed the path society expected. They checked all the right boxes, meeting both societal and family expectations. Yet, their true calling lay elsewhere.

Left Banking Career Behind
Everything was going well with high-flying corporate jobs, and both were enjoying their life. Satyajit was also living a happy life with his two kids. He also bought an apartment and a car. But, one day, something kept him awake at night.
Traveling 2 hours every day to the office, 9 hours in a cubicle, and weekends relaxing, selling things that felt meaningless. Prosperity was there, but peace was missing. Satyajit realized that he was living a life built on social approval with little true satisfaction.
He only felt truly alive on visits to his village farm—breathing fresh air, surrounded by nature and animals. One day, a question struck him: Why can't I build a life here? That moment of clarity led him to take a bold step. He left behind corporate life and, along with his brother Ajinkya, founded Two Brothers Organic Farms—returning to his roots, not just to farm, but to build a purpose-driven life.
Concept To Creation
The plan has been made, but turning the concept into reality was not a cup of it. Working around the clock, brainstorming day and night, Initial challenges, and a little fear about the decision. But taking a leap of faith, the duo brothers aligned their entrepreneurship spirit with purpose and aimed to inspire more people to start farming, make farming more attractive, and get more talented people in the industry.
Finally, in 2016, duo brothers– Satyajit Hange and Ajinkya Hange launched Pune-based Two Brothers Organic Farms, an organic farm business. This agri-tech platform, TBOF, is focused on making farming more sustainable and healthier by promoting organic and natural farming methods.
By offering alternative farming products, TBOF helps farmers grow food and reduce the use of harmful chemicals and pesticides, which can damage the environment and human health.
For the better future of the planet and Consumers, the company works closely with farmers in India and internationally to help them reach more buyers and get fair prices for their crops. TBOF has trained thousands of farmers and helped them switch to organic farming, turning over 2000 acres of land into sustainable farming land.
TBOF also produces healthy organic products, raising awareness about the importance of native crops for better food security and protecting biodiversity. They focus on encouraging the growth of traditional and native crops like millet and whole grains, which are healthier and better for the environment.

TBOF-Breaking Barriers
Becoming entrepreneurs wasn't easy, but their unwavering mindset and bigger mission kept them going. Leaving a stable 9 to 5 banking job to become a farmer was a bold decision.
Their parents were anxious, and the villagers didn't hold back their doubts. "What are they doing? Organic farming? The world is moving in a different direction. This won’t work. They'll end up selling their land and returning to the city." Despite the negative comments, they just focused on their work and stayed true to their passion.
In the midst of all this, developing organic farming was tough, but they aligned their work with a deeper purpose. Each obstacle became an opportunity for growth, and slowly, they turned their dream into reality.

Reaching New Heights

With an annual turnover of $4 million (no institutional funding, no debt), they employed over 200 local villagers, providing full social benefits.
They now care for over 5,000 indigenous cows, sell organic farm products to more than 53 countries, and have sequestered 70,000 tons of CO2 through sustainable practices. What started as a bold leap of faith became a thriving, impactful business.
No matter where you stand today, what truly matters is the future you're building today.
