YouTube Appoints Gunjan Soni As New India Head

YouTube has named Gunjan Soni as its new Country Managing Director for India. She takes over from Ishan Chatterjee, who left in 2024 to join JioCinema as Chief Revenue Officer.

Soni brings over 20 years of experience across business, technology, marketing, and e-commerce. Before joining YouTube, she was the Group CEO at ZALORA in Singapore where she helped launch new categories, introduce new business models and improve the user experience.

Soni also has strong experience in India's media and marketing sector. She was Executive Vice President at Star India and Chief Marketing Officer at myntra. Earlier, she worked as a partner at McKinsey in the Consumer and Marketing practice. She is also a board member at CBRE Group, a Fortune 500 company.
