VinFast Partners With BatX Energies For Battery Recycling

VinFast has partnered with BatX Energies, a lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery recycling startup, to start battery recycling and reuse services for its electric vehicles in india. 

BatX Energies will handle recycling high-voltage batteries, recover important materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel, and reuse them in making new batteries for VinFast India’s factory and after-sales services. This will help reduce the need for mining and lower environmental harm by reusing resources.

VinFast is set to launch its first two electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, in India. The company is working on its Thoothukudi plant and growing its dealerships, service centers, and charging stations across the country.

This partnership also plans for future projects like using old batteries for new purposes, urban mining, and recovering key materials. It supports India and Vietnam in building a circular economy for electric vehicles.

About BatX Energies

Founded in 2020 by Utkarsh Singh and Vikrant Singh, BatX says it can extract 99.95% pure lithium, nickel, and cobalt from the black mass of Li-ion batteries using its special zero-waste, zero-emission hydro-electro process.

BatX runs modern facilities, including an IoT-enabled automated recycling unit and a hydrometallurgy plant that can handle 5,100 metric tons of batteries each year.

The company collects Li-ion batteries from electric vehicle makers, battery manufacturers or factory waste, then extracts the minerals to use in making new batteries.
