Uniphore Acquires Orby AI, Plans Autonom8 Buy to Expand Business AI Cloud

Conversational automation and business AI leader Uniphore announced the acquisition of Orby AI and its intent to acquire Autonom8, moves aimed at strengthening its Business AI Cloud and extending enterprise-grade automation capabilities.

The acquisitions bring to Uniphore a team of engineers and researchers with backgrounds at DeepMind and google, reflecting the growing race for AI talent as companies push beyond chat-based systems toward advanced workflow automation.

Orby AI specialises in large action models, neuro-symbolic reasoning, and agentic process discovery, while Autonom8 has developed tools for multi-agent workflows, enabling businesses to operationalize advanced AI at scale. Together, the companies will enhance Uniphore’s ability to manage workflows requiring “reasoning, judgment, and precision,” areas where generative AI still faces limitations.

Uniphore has been actively expanding through acquisitions. In December, it acquired ActionIQ and Infoworks, bolstering its data and analytics stack. The company, which has raised $610 million to date, was last valued at $2.5 billion after a $400 million funding round in February 2022.

Uniphore said it will launch early access programs later this year for select customers to test the new technology. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
