UIDAI Partners With Sarvam AI To Offer AI Voice, Fraud Detection To Aadhaar

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with  Sarvam AI, a Bengaluru-based GenAI startup to add AI-powered voice interactions and fraud detection to Aadhaar services.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Sarvam AI, a Bengaluru-based GenAI startup to add AI-powered voice interactions and fraud detection to Aadhaar services.

This partnership aims to improve the user experience, increase security, and make services more accessible by supporting multiple languages.

Sarvam AI will use AI-driven voice interactions for Aadhaar services, allowing users to give real-time feedback about their enrollment or update experiences, including any overcharging issues.

The AI system will also detect fraud during authentication requests, improving security for Aadhaar holders.

The system will support 10 languages initially: Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, and Malayalam. More languages will be added later.

Additionally, Sarvam AI’s technology will be hosted on UIDAI’s infrastructure, to ensure data stays within UIDAI’s environment. The partnership is currently set for one year with an option to extend it.

This collaboration supports goal of UIDAI to improving Aadhaar services with technological innovations. The GenAI solution was developed under UIDAI’s volunteer policy, with Sarvam AI working closely with UIDAI’s Technology Centre in Bengaluru.
