Wilson also mentioned that the interior upgrades of the single-aisle fleet, which serves domestic and short-haul international routes, are in progress and will be finished by mid-2025.

Wilson highlighted that these mergers, along with new aircraft deliveries, have expanded the Air India Group’s fleet to 300 aircraft, enabling it to serve over 100 destinations globally.
Campbell Wilson, said, "Air India's global coverage will further increase in the years ahead, not least because of the recent addition of 100 aircraft to our order book, augmenting the earlier commitment for 470 made in 2023. Air India has covered a lot of ground in the period since privatisation; we acknowledge there's much more to be done. All 30,000 Air Indians are fully committed to improving the quality and consistency of our services in all areas so that Air India becomes the world-class airline we all want it to be."
The CEO and MD of Air India also shared that the new aircraft will be supported by a new 12-bay maintenance facility and training school in Bengaluru, a 34-aircraft flight school in Amravati, and a training academy in Gurugram.
India is one of the fastest-growing aviation markets globally, and efforts are being made to turn the country into a major aviation hub, with Indian airlines offering direct flights to international destinations.
