“We are excited to partner with Bosch to help Bosch create a robust and reliable supply chain for key technology products," Thakur said in a statement. "This partnership is well-aligned with our commitment to help create a holistic semiconductor and electronics ecosystem in India, with offerings that resonate with customers around the world.”

“Bosch recognises the increasing demand for advanced automotive electronics and their critical role in shaping the future of mobility," Kress said. "Bosch is pleased to foster partnership with Tata Electronics to address the growing needs and foster supply chain resilience. This move signifies both companies commitment to local collaboration and acknowledges the strategic importance of the burgeoning automotive sector in india.”

The companies also mentioned they will explore local projects in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) for vehicle electronics, aiming for opportunities that benefit both sides.

Bosch, a global leader in mobility technologies, is looking to boost its electronics sourcing by partnering with local firms. The company sees rising demand for advanced automotive electronics as key to the future of mobility.

Its upcoming chip plant in Dholera, Gujarat, is being developed with support from global players like Taiwan’s PSMC, Himax Technologies, US-based Synopsys, and Japan’s Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL), bringing world-class chipmaking expertise to India.

Bosch also recently began exporting chips — a major step for a country that has mostly relied on imports for semiconductors. While initial exports are small, they mark a big shift in India’s industrial journey.
