Tata Communications Acquires 51% Stake in US AI Firm Commotion for ₹227 Crore

Tata Communications has bought a 51% stake in US-based AI SaaS company Commotion for ₹227 crore.

The company said the deal will help it bring AI faster into its digital platforms, especially to improve customer interactions.

The acquisition will strengthen Tata Communications’ Customer Interaction Suite, which includes Tata Communications Kaleyra. By combining Commotion’s orchestration engine with Kaleyra’s systems—such as messaging channels, the Kaleyra TX Hub, and CCaaS—the company plans to automate and improve complete customer journeys. 

This upgrade will help shift customer interactions from reactive responses to more predictive and AI-driven engagement across all touchpoints.
