Swiggy shuts down 15-min food delivery app Snacc due to profit pressures

Food delivery giant Swiggy has shut down its 15-minute delivery app SNACC, less than a year after its launch, as the service struggled to become profitable.

SNACC operated in Bengaluru and Gurugram. According to media reports, its employees will be moved to other parts of Swiggy's business.

According to a media report, Swiggy said in an internal email that while SNACC was starting to find a product-market fit, the overall economics made it hard to scale the business.

Swiggy launched Snacc in January 2025 after competitors Zepto introduced Zepto Cafe and Eternal’s Blinkit launched Bistro. These apps focused on snacks, drinks, mini-meals, and desserts.

They sourced products from third-party vendors who usually supply hotels, restaurants, and cafes, and partnered with companies providing beverage-dispensing machines for items like tea and coffee. The apps typically offered a limited range of items from their dark stores.

Swiggy’s other fast-delivery services are growing. In a letter to shareholders after the December quarter, the Bengaluru-based company said Bolt and its budget option 99-store together made up “well over a fifth of food delivery platform volumes.”

In the same quarter, Swiggy’s main food delivery business — its biggest cash-consuming segment — saw a 20.5% growth in gross order value, surpassing its 18–20% target.

Last year, Zomato paused its 15-minute delivery service Quick just four months after launching. Zepto Café, Zepto’s quick-service food arm, closed about 200 of its 600 outlets during an internal restructuring due to weak demand in some markets. Meanwhile, ola also paused its Ola Foods delivery service after its relaunch.
