Swiggy launches new app ‘toing’ to provide economical meal delivery services

Listed foodtech major Swiggy has launched a new app called Toing. Currently operating in Pune, Toing focuses on affordable food delivery options.

Unlike the main Swiggy app, Toing focuses on curated restaurants, easier ordering, simpler navigation, and lower prices. It ensures that restaurant prices closely match offline rates.

The new app targets students, Gen Z, and young professionals. Pune was chosen for its status as an education hub and a less crowded food delivery market, unlike saturated cities like Bangalore. Toing aims to offer affordable meals for lower-income consumers.

The app offers items under Rs 99 and promises delivery in under 30 minutes. Menu options include cakes, burgers, pasta, sandwiches, sweets, ice creams, pizzas, biryani, dosa, kebabs, parathas, noodles, and pastries. Swiggy’s main app also features a Rs 99 store with meals priced at Rs 99 or less.

In recent months, Swiggy has focused on affordable meals. In July, it launched the “99 Store” within the app, offering fast food priced between INR 49 and INR 149 for price-conscious Gen-Z users.

Swiggy is also launching separate apps for different services, moving away from the super app model. This year, it introduced apps for its concierge service ‘Crew,’ 15-minute delivery app Snacc, service app Pyng, and quick commerce app Instamart.
