Stock trading platform Dhan appoints Ketan Shah as CEO of Omni Channel Business

Stock trading and investment platform Dhan announced on monday that Ketan Shah has been appointed as CEO of its omnichannel business.

Shah, with over 25 years at Angel One, will head Dhan’s expansion of investing and trading products across online and offline channels. He most recently served as Angel One’s chief strategy officer and board member.

"Dhan has demonstrated innovation in product, technology, and customer service in the decades-old stock trading industry, and as a result, in a very short period of time, Dhan has become a platform of choice for super traders and long-term investors," said Shah.

“With Ketan leading the new charter at Dhan, we hope to build and scale our business via omnichannels by enabling our partners to succeed by leveraging technology,” said Pravin Jadhav, founder and CEO, Dhan.

Raise Financial Services, Dhan’s parent company, has been boosting its leadership team for growth, appointing Amit Gupta as group CFO in July.

Headquartered in Mumbai, Raise Financial Services owns Dhan and other platforms, including Upsurge (a finance learning platform), ScanX (market insights for investors), and FilterCoffee (financial media). Dhan was founded in January 2021 by Pravin Jadhav, Alok Pandey, Jay Prakash Gupta, and Raunak Rathi.

The company raised $22 million in January 2022 from investors like BEENEXT, Mirae Asset, 3one4 Capital, and Rocketship.VC, and is reportedly planning a larger funding round.

Despite being relatively new, Dhan has become one of India’s top brokers, entering the top 10 in September 2024 by overtaking Paytm Money and competing with groww, zerodha, Angel One, Upstox, Paytm Money, and PhonePe’s Share.
