Snowflake Partners With Nasscom To Train 1 Lakh Indians In Data, AI Over Two Years

Snowflake, an AI data cloud company has announced a partnership with FutureSkills Prime, a digital training program by Nasscom and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to promote data and AI skills.

Through this collaboration, Snowflake and Nasscom aim to enroll over 100,000 learners, including professionals and students, in Snowflake's free, on-demand, beginner-level data and AI courses over the next two years.

This initiative is part of Snowflake's global "One Million Minds + One Platform" program focused on AI skill development.

According to Nasscom, India leads in AI skill development, ranking first in AI talent concentration and fifth in AI research publications. However, there is a 51% gap between the demand and supply of AI professionals, with an expected demand of over one million AI professionals in India by 2026.

Through this partnership, Snowflake and Nasscom are helping to close the skills gap by providing access to quality training and resources, ensuring that data and AI professionals are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in the growing data field.

By joining the FutureSkills Prime platform, Snowflake will connect with over 2,100 institutions in Nasscom’s Academia network. Snowflake’s courses will be included in university programs as either required or optional, in line with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

These courses will be available to undergraduate and postgraduate students (from their second year onward, aged 16 and above), as well as professionals looking to upskill.

The courses will be offered through the FutureSkills Prime platform, providing a clear path to developing expertise in high-demand technology areas.

The Snowflake courses will also follow the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and National Credit Framework (NCrF) guidelines, to help learners gain practical skills and improve their employability. After completing the courses, students will earn University credits that align with their current academic systems.
